No gliding in Thailand?

I never knew why I suddenly had an obsession of gliders kick in. No answer, just one Youtube video, and it took off like fireworks. The Stemme s10 was on that video. A motorglider, valued at $300,000, aimed at the rich boys. A gem of the gliding world, a pursuit for the perfect flying machine.

Having asperger's syndrome, a form of autism that's known for the lack of social skills and direct interest fixture(only album 1-2 things), and one of mine were gliders. I didn't get why god made me obsessed with gliders, why couldn't he make me obsessed with coffee beans or something. I could be starting a coffee farm or even open a coffee shop franchise or start my own coffee brand. I could be happy at the spot and still make a lot of dough. As for gliding, if I wanted to, I have to travel all the way across the world just to get a ride. And yet, I know that I won't make a single cent in a competition. And Thailand's high taxes, means, that I have to be richer than Warren Buffet just to own a second-hand Schempp-Hirth Discus or LS4!

I never can understand it, gliding is everywhere around the world, even in Japan and the Philippines! But why not Thailand?! Why can't we have it here?! WHY?!



Whatever the case, the only option is to go abroad, perhaps, to New Zeland. And by one in Thailand if I get the money to afford one, probably a self-launcher like the DG808 or a Ventus. But at the moment targeting the Czech-made TST-10 Atlas. It's cheap as a Honda Civic, self launching(Rotax-powered, mind you, not just some junky 2-stroke) and yet easy to fly and maintain, also paying as down payment. Still need the training though..:)

Another day and Thank you Mr Cameron

Dad has left for work, mom still sleeping on a black Laz-boy, and as for me, just woken up as if drowning myself with a shot of absinthe or tequila. But truth to be told, I had went to bed at 2am that night, from spending in front of the screen of my 24 inch iMac, during a photo-shop photo-manipulation that's inspired from Avatar the movie. A picture that i have taken at Pattaya, a thunderstorm was heading or way, to our hotel. And the waves battled against the seawall that protected the beachside pool, gave me the chance to snap away my EOS1000D of nature's force.



Back to the manipulation, spend 4-5 days working on it, and finally getting it submitted to DeviantART at 2AM in the morning left me relieved for the rest of the night. Next morning, down the stairs, switch on my iMac, check e-mail and comments on various websites. Check DA. Result: 11 favs, over 40 views in 6 hours, and several comments. I've never had any artwork that jumped in popularity overnight like this one! But I did not care much, I just wanted to see if I could re-created Pandora with a mouse...

Ever since I have watched Avatar, I've never have been so creative-motivated. I was never as motivated to push my creativity to the fullest. To floor it. All artists, like Van Gogh, want to take it too the next level after they have finished each piece of art. And I feared that I would hit a dead end, of my creativity, like Van Gogh.

Whatever the case, Avatar was a phenomenon, not just in the movie industry, but a phenomenon of life! Thank you very much James Cameron... You have totally changed my view to the world. Both in terms of having the love for nature, the push for creativity, the motivation to live life to the fullest.... I Salute you!
